Flower Power...............................

Hello everyone!

It's time for another challenge at Digi Choosday - yippeeeeeee! This week is Flower Power and again.....................Yippeeeeeeee! I LOVE flowers & I love flowers on projects, I had too many ideas and no self control, so I had to calm down :)

I wanted to colour Dollie Goes East - Lantern from the collection as she is just too pretty and a proper grown up image, know what I mean? She is available from the CD-Rom collection  or the bundle from the download digi shop or the Etsy shop or as a digi from the Polkadoodles store.  Actually with all them options, you have no excuse not to get her! :) I coloured the luscious Lantern with my beloved Graph'It Markers, again you have to try them and then you'll know why I love them! Oriental colours can be quite bold and intense and therefore I had to use the hot pinks from the collection.

The list of markers used are:

Skin:  4115, 4155, 4170, 4145, 4170
Hair: 9500; 9502; 9503, 9505, 9506, 9508
Dress & flower band: 5150; 5170; 5180 (5130 & 5150 headband)
Lantern: 2105, 2140, 2150
Eyes: 8160
Lips: 4175, 5130

I coloured the lillies and the cherry blossoms with 5150 and Graph'It markers just made the colour so intense:  I jsut know I will be colouring all my flowers from now on.

The lantern template is from the Dollie Goes East collection as is the backing paper I used. I printed the template onto A4 card and then my apprentice did a FANTASTIC job of cutting it out. I then traced the template onto the backing papers and my sweet love, cut that out too! You can imagine the joy he had when I told him he needed to cut out Lantern too :)

The collection has these amazing sentiment scrolls; which is just a brilliant example of how Nikky Hall carries the theme through all aspects of her collections. I really was spoiled for choice when I used this collection.  I went over the scroll with the Graph'It Silver Glitter Pen and I used the Gold one for subtle accents on Lanterns dress - these glitter pens are ace to use, fantastic quality.

So there you are, this weeks project:

I hope you like her and if you also feel the power of the flower overcoming you, pop over to the challenge blog and have a punt yourself, we would love to see your projects!

Hugs for now
