Rose Bride...........

Hi there!

Well it is a new challenge over at Graph'It Markers Colouring Challenge and that means a new challenge and a NEW sponsor! This time we are sponsored by Sami Stamps and for our theme of 'Ribbon & Lace' I got to play with the lovely image of 'Rose Bride'.

For this challenge, the winner will receive $12 to spend in store! Whoo hoo - get colouring, remember you don't need to use Graph'It Markers to join in the challenges, just follow the theme.

I made a 7x7 card and I opted for papers from the new Polkadoodles Work & Play Collection 10: Country Life, they are really beautiful and I loved how soft they were. In fact the main backing paper is so soft you can't see it in my post!!! But trust me, it's lovely!

For the blue paper I debossed it using a Tattered Lace embossing folder, I used Fretwork Lace I think it's called. I edged the papers with Stormy Sky Distress Ink for added depth.  I used the one of the matching borders from the Embossing Folder and embossed a strip of the backing paper for contrast. So pretty. I added this onto some pale blue seam binding.  I have these amazing lace butterflies so I added that and felt that was enough for the lace.

I wanted the focus to be the main image and although I added some lovely flowers and pins, I do think she still draws the eye.

Markers used are as follows:
Skin: 4120, 4155, 4170, 4145
Hair: 1210, 1230, 1270, 1250
Dress, 9100, 9102, 9103
Roses: 5210, 5215, 5220, 8260, 8130
I cut the image with a Spellbinders Die, I think it is Majestic Labels Twenty, and edged with Stormy Sky whilst still in the die.  I cut out a sentiment from Tattered Lace and coloured with Distress Ink but I think it's lost in the embossed background in the picture, it is very visible in real life!

So that's me for just now. Remember to pop over to the main blog to see the rest of the inspiration from the design team.

See you soon!
