Good Morning!
Before we begin, I would like to say a big Happy Birthday to His Nibs - I hope you have a fab day my dear.............even though you are working! :)
So, back to buisness. This week sees the launch of a new challenge at Polkadoodles Challenge Blog and this time it's 'Ribbon & Lace'. I love this theme, it lets my girly side out and I get to play!
I opted to make a 8x8 card and chose to use Fredericka Debutante image for this one. I wanted to make the image the main feature complimented with the theme of the challenge, so I chose two digi papers from the Rose Budd Collection, and then I embossed the feature paper with a Tattered Lace embossing folder, Frettered Lacework. I edged round it with Distress Ink 'Spun Sugar'.
I coloured the image with my Graph'It Markers and then cut her out with a Spellbinder die - Exquisite Labels 11. Whislt the cardstock was still in the die, I inked it up with distress ink.
I used the following markers to colour her:
Skin: 4120, 4170, 3120, 4135, 4145, 4175 (lips)
Hair: 1250, 3110, 3140, 3160
Dress: 4147, 4175, 5210, 5220 & 5240 (underskirt)
Envelope: 9100, 9102
The ribbon flower and lace flower are from my stash. I added two pearl embellishments from Tattered Lace to finish it off.
There is shade and depth to the dress, my camera just hasn't picked up on it very well which is frustrating.
Now remember - to join in the fun with us, you do not need to use Polkadoodles images to enter. Hop over to the main challenge blog to see the rest of the inspiration from the Design Team.
See you soon!
