Week 27 - Use your Dies/Punches.......

Hi there everyone!

It's Digi Choosday Challenge day and I love this weeks theme!!! Nikky said, 'use your dies or punches', whooopeeee said me!! I have a HUGE amount of dies, in fact, it could be considered excessive..........I said 'could be' I didn't say it was!!  I just know Mr Scissorhands is rolling his eyes as he reads this...........

I had to use Emma Cannings 'Kiss the Frog' - I got this a couple of weeks ago and I have been waiting for the right challenge to suit it, and here it is, I just love this image, classic and elegant. I coloured the Princess and her 'Prince' with Graph'It Markers as always:

The Graph'Its I used are:

Skin:  4125, 4155, 4170, 4145
Hair:  3120, 3150, 3170
Dress: 4145, 4135, 4175
Gloves: 5140, 6160
Crowns: 2105, 2110, 2120
Frog/Prince: 8140, 8160
Outline: 9100

Once I had her coloured up, I knew exactly what die I wanted to use and that is the 'Westminster' die from Tattered Lace. I confess, I'm having an affair with Tattered Lace dies....I was always a Spellbinder girl but I do find that I am falling more and more in love with all things Tattered Lace - but you don't need to know this, on with the post woman!

So once I had my princess cut out, I decided to dig out my distress inks and edge the die with some colour. I decided to go with Tattered Rose (there seems to be a theme here....) I then opted to cut the Westminster larger frames with pearlescent cardstock, I then inked them too with the Tattered Rose distress ink.

I printed out two papers from the Rose Budd Collection - if you haven't got the collection yet, I really don't know what you are waiting for. The lushness of the papers alone are worth buying this collection for, nevermind the tons of other goodies packed in there.

I built up my card and then before glueing down, I wanted some oomph. So I decided to run the larger backing paper through the Grand Calibur using the new Tattered Lace Embossing Folders - Tattered Lace (did I mention my obsession?). You also get the corner embossing folder and I opted to run two corners of the smaller backing paper through the GC too, just to give some texture.

Looking much better - texture has been added and I like the look. I had vintage rose ribbon that I opted for and then I started putting it all together. Nikky said - use dies.........so I opted to add Tattered Lace Lattice Bow and the new Butterflies that just came out from Tattered Lace too, because what is a card without a butterfly?  Ok - so it's a card without a butterfly, but you crafters know what I mean!  A few gems and finished - gorgeous.

So I hope you can see, using dies with your digi stamps and papers truly is hybrid crafting at its best.  I hope you can pop over to the main challenge blog and see the rest of the inspiration from the team. I just know this week, there will be LOTS of entries for the challenge and I look forward to seeing them all.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon!

Hugs

Yvonne x
