Hello there!
A very Happy 4th July to my American friends and isn't this theme just perfect for today?! I was all inspired for stars and stripes.....ok so there is no stripes but there are stars!
For this theme I made a 7x7 card with an ivory pearlescent cardstock base and mat. I love love love the image of Lewis from the Pretty Tuff CD (or you can get him as a digi download), he is such a beautiful image and the way he holds his teddy is just so endearing. I love him.
I coloured Lewis with my trusty Graph'It Markers, the pens used are as follows:
Skin: 4155, 4170
Hair: 3110, 3140
Dungarees: 9103, 9104, 9105
Top: 7125, 7130, 7140
Hat: 5120, 5220, 5245
Bear: 1270, 3245
I cut Lewis out with a Tattered Lace die, this one is from the Kedleston collection which is the scalloped oval. Not too fancy for a boy image but still sets the image off perfectly. Now the die actually cuts the scalloped inner as well as outer, I softened the white of the image with Blue Tint Pan Pastel, but chose to leave the outer frame white to give contrast.
The papers are from one of the 5yr Anniversary bundles, for this I chose Ruth, the blue dotty paper is ACE and how could I resist the star patterned paper for a theme of red, white and blue on the 4th July!? It was meant to be! Lol!!
I opted to run the blue dotty paper through my grand calibur using a Creative Expressions A4 embossing folder; Picnic Plaid. I love the effect, it gives it a wonderful texture. Embossing patterned paper may become my new obsession..............
I finished the card off with some red and blue star gems I had hidden at the bottom of my gem stash, isn't it amazing what we find when we dig around in our stash................maybe best to skim over that part! Lol!!
And there we have it, my second post for the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog; thank you for popping past and please remember to visit the challenge blog to see the rest of the teams inspiration for this great theme. Remember to join in the fun, we love to see your entries!
See you soon!
