Anything but a square card............

Hello there!!!

Well those of you who are regulars will notice I changed the look of my blog, I love it, now I shouldn't be so boastful, but blogging set up is a big deal for me to conquer - or at least make a dent in what with my lack of computer know-how, so I am well pleased with the finished effect.

Ok, enough about me, that isn't why we are here! The reason we are here is because it is Digi Choosday day and we love Choosday's don't we!  This week the theme is 'Anything but a square card' and although I have loads of shaped cards - I decided to make a bookmark. I know. I sometimes wonder what goes on in my mind too. However, this time I was inspired, in such a tech driven world, I saw a gentleman the other day reading a book, an actual paperback and then he committed the ultimate sin, by folding over the corner of the page to mark his spot. Horror of horrors! I was aghast! I immediately thought, 'what he needs is a bookmark'.

Light bulb.

So I made a bookmark. Ok, I know, the one I have made, it's hardly suitable for a man, but there's only so much outside my comfort zone I can go without support!!! LOL!!!

I found the bookmark template on one of my craft programs and with clear intent of making a male bookmark, I went and used one of the beautiful papers that are included in the digi-bundle Louise.  Due to the gorgeous damask paper, I felt only flowers were appropriate to compliment the paper, which means out the window with the male bookmark completely! Now, I couldn't resist it, I had to browse through the beauty that is the new Rose Budd Collection because every time I look at it (which is often), I keep seeing new things and I opted for the gorgeousness that is the pansies. Sigh. You actually get sheets of flowers, I know, spoiled!!!

Trauma alert! No Mr Scissorhands this time and my baby beautiful titanium coated craft scissors died when I decided that they could maybe snip metal. Seems that they can't. So there I was, a sheet of flowers and a pair of kitchen scissors. Well that was a fun evening in.

Once done, all that was left was the assembly.

I decorated the front and the back - because I could - and then I opted for a sentiment from the Dollie Goes East Collection - which you can get either as a digi download or as a CD-Rom. I coloured the sentiment with one of my Graph'It Markers to match the tone of the pansy.  Little bit of cream ribbon, job done!

I hope after all the blurb, you like the end result! Now, you must must must go visit the Digi Choosday Challenge Blog, because we have new team members and their projects are fab! Plus you have all the regular team with their usual fantastic projects and Nikky always has a fab offer for you on a Choosday, so go on, pop over and remember to join in the fun, we love to see your makes.

Til next time
