Water/Ice or Blue/Pruple

Hello there!

Well it's mid challenge inspiration at Graph'It Markers Challenge Blog and the current theme is 'Water/Ice' or Blue/Purple', I think the DT just got the option of 'Water/Ice'.  Well, I am totally rubbish at water and I thought Ice may be too much of an easy way out, so I decided on water. Yes, I also understand I am a little bit loopy!!!  WARNING: Lots of the photos for this post.

Firstly, here is my finished project, I chose a Hannah Lynn image and she is called 'Golden Pond' and she is of course a digi image.

Now, the above is a rubbish picture for two reasons, 1) it looks like it's wishy washy yuck and 2) the water looks rubbish too.

Here is a close up of the image:
Now I am not sure if the water looks better here but I hope that it does!  Of course I used my Graph'It Markers and the colours are as follows:

Skin:  4120, 4155, 3210, cheeks 4145 & 4135, lips; 4175 & 5215, eyes 7105 & 7115
Flower: 4135, 5215, 8250, 8160
Hair:  3210, 3255, 3270
Lilypad:  8270, 8160, 8220, 8270
Frog:  8270, 8160
Water: 9100, 9102, 9103, 7110 and lots and lots of blender!

Now you may have noticed the background to the image is missing, the digi image gives you the reeds etc behind her. However, I accidentally messed that bit up and although I have been told 100 times by Nikky to do the background first then the image, once again I didn't listen!

So I cut round my beautiful stamp and made a background of my own. Now you may recall our previous challenge was 'SFX and/or backgrounds' and one of my fellow teamies did a quick tutorial of how to make your own background on acetate, you can look at Claire's tutorial here.

So I can it a go and here's the finished effect.

The markers used for the above result are: 7190, 9106, 5270, 7155 and mix it fluid. I trimmed it down to the bit that I wanted to use and I think she looks gorgeous with that behind her.
I used foam pads to lift her up and give her some substance which I think worked well.

The backing papers are from a paperpad from Lili of the Valley 'Frosty Christmas'.  I used the 'Memory Box' die 'Frosty Corner', and the little stars are the cut out bits of the die.  My own silver satin ribbon and some pearls and she was complete.
There you have it, the finished card featuring water that you can't actually see very well at all! But it is there and it isn't too bad, even if I do say so myself.

Remember to pop back to the main challenge blog to see the rest of the teams mid challenge inspiration.

See you all soon!

Hugs
