The theme this week is...........Ovals!!

Hello!!!

It's Tuesday so this must mean it is Digi Choosday......yippeeee!! This weeks theme is Ovals and you cannot think of an oval at this time of year, when spring has sprung, and not think...................Easter (eggs)! So I have made my first Easter card  of the year.

I used some adorable scorable cardstock from Hunkydory - there's no cracks in my crease - folded in half to make a standard A5 card, then I took my largest oval from my Spellbinders Grand Ovals and whacked it through my Grand Calibur (remember to leave a section of the die outwith the card to allow for the fold). Now bearing in mind that adorable scorable is 300gsm, folded is 600gsm (maths genius I am), it only took 3.5 attempts to cut. Some people will be horrified at this, I thought it was quite impressive. However, let's move on!

There is a new CD-Rom out from Polkadoodles and this is Work & Play Collection 2. Great characters on this again, but I have to have a mini moment whilst I rave about the absolutely FANTASTIC papers that Nikky Hall adds into each and everyone of her CD-Roms, the papers in the Florist Character section in particular are beautiful - and the papers used above are from this section. I generally detest the colour green, but I have to say, the green leaf paper inspired me to use a green cardstock. I just think it looks so Spring(y)!

As the theme is Ovals and I have an Oval card, everything else was a simple case of nesting ovals really. I'd say simples, but there is only so much I think you can take eh!! :)

The image is from Emma Canning Spring Blossom section of Digiworld Downloadables and I used Egg Hunt. Of course, the image is coloured with my Graph'It Markers.

The colours I used are:

Hair: 1250, 3110, 3140
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170, 4145 (cheeks)
Top: 5110, 5120, 5130
Jeans: 9100, 9101, 9103, 9104
Grass:8160, 8260, 8270, 8140
Egg basket: 1210, 1230, 1270, 1280, 3210, 3230,
Eggs: 4135, 4175, 7125, 7130, 7220, 7240, 4115, 5140
Outline: 9500

I added some lace from my stash, some paper flowers and also Butterfly Flourish Signature Die from Joanna Sheen. The eagle eyed of you will see I have added some Doobadoo Laser Art Butterfly's for that finishing touch.

So there you have it, I hope you like it and don't forget to hop over to the main challenge blog to see the rest of the Design Teams makes, trust me, there are some stunners this week; and of course, why not join in the fun!

Thanks for popping past!

Hugs

Yvonne xx
